About Me

My name is Ryan, and I travel across Colorado, into the heart of Yellowstone, and anywhere the wild calls to track rare birds and elusive wildlife. Through my lens, I hunt for that once-in-a-lifetime frame—the raw action, the intimate close-up, and the true emotion of an animal in its honest environment. But my journey into the wild started long before I ever picked up a professional camera.

Growing up, one of my dad’s favorite hobbies was photography. Back then I didn’t understand his passion. I wasn’t into the mountains, the outdoors, or the quiet patience it took to get the perfect shot. As the years passed, I began to see the world differently. When my father passed away twelve years ago it left a quiet space in my life. Four years ago, I made a life-altering choice to quit drinking. It was in that newfound clarity that photography took over. It became more than a passion—it became my purpose. Today, every time I look through the viewfinder, I feel like I am channeling my dad. I know he would be proud of the artist I’ve become, and that connection pushes me every single day to be the absolute best at what I do.

Right now, this is my dedication and my part-time hustle, but the ultimate goal is to take this full-time and travel the world capturing the beauty of our planet - and hopefully, become an Explorer of Light for Canon! I pour my entire heart into this craft so that when you look at my photos, you feel the same awe, emotion, and adrenaline that I felt while taking them.
